32nd National Games National Games Concludes

The 32nd National Games came to a conclusion at a Grand Function on evening with Prime Minister Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, Governor Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu and other dignitaries. Mr. Vajpayee, who flew in from Ahmedabad responded to the suggestions given by the Chief Minister. Responding to the Naidu's suggestion of making a bid to host the 2012 Olympics he said when Hyderabad was willing to host it the Centre need not have any Objection. The Chief Minister handed over the IOA flag to Tarun Gongoi, Chief Minister of Assam, which will host the 33rd National Games at Guwahati in 2005.



The Telugu Desam Party rejected the criticism by Congress President Sonia Gandhi that the Telugu Desam Government is misusing Central funds and neglecting the interests of weaker sections. Addressing a Press Conference, Ummireddy Venkateswarulu and R. Chandrasekhara Reddy said Ms. Gandhi had no idea about the ground realities in Andhra Pradesh. They said "Every paisa is spent productively and is actually reaching the target groups".

The State Government is prepared to amend the Transplantation of Human Organs Act. This was stated by the Health Minister, Kodela Siva Prasada Rao. Inaugurating a workshop on "Transplant" organised by the Nephrology department of Gandhi Hospital, he gave assurance that Government will provide sufficient funds to Osmania, Gandhi and Visakhapatnam Hospitals.

The State BJP President, C. Ramachandra Reddy has complimented all the players who won medals for the State.
