Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurates National Games events at VisakhapatnamChief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu declares the open of National Games at Visakha Port Sports Complex in Visakhapatnam. The Board of Intermediate Studies has decided to cancel 43 examination centers which were setup last year for the benefit of students staying in villages where there is only 1 college. The Board restored to this decision following misappropriations in these centres. Naxals of the People's War Group blasted the Mandal Revenue Office at Gummalakshmipuram in Vijayanagaram district. It may be recalled that last year on December 7th, the same office was blasted by the PWG. In another incident the Naxals of the People's War Group blasted a Railway engine near Kamareddy and Nizamabad. Earlier the Naxals, stopped the train and dragged the driver out. The President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam left to Delhi ending his 2 day visit to Hyderabad. Governor Dr. Rangarajan, Chief Minister Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, Principal Secretary Mr. Sathi Nayar, Mayor Mr. Teegala Krishna Reddy, Ministers Mr. Devendar Goud, Mr. Vijaya Rama Rao, Mr. Ramulu, Mr. S. Chandramohan Reddy, Mr. Bhoomanna, DGP MR. P Ramulu and others gave send-off to the President. A Meet in Hyderabad felt that subsidies are very much important to help the farmers. CLP YSR, MSR explained the importance of providing free electricity to farmers. The World Telugu Meet for the year will be held in Singapore. Speaking to the press, a team of delegates said that this is the first time that the World Telugu Meet is to be held on foreign soil. They said that the Chief Minister Mr. Chandrababu Naidu will be the Chief Guest and will inaugurate the 3-day Meet which will begin on 27th of this month.
