PWG creates havoc in various parts of the state
It was action time for the People's War Group extremist group for they created havoc at various areas of the state on Monday night. In Nalgonda, they killed a head constable Mr. Shankarji (44). In Guntur, they attacked on a Cement factory and attacked the staff there and beat them to injuries. A Forest Department Office in Mahabubnagar was completely destroyed in fire.

In Warangal, the naxals killed a former member Mr. Arepalle Mallesam(35). Mr. Mallesam was with the PWG Janashakti Group earlier.

All-Party meeting on Krishna River waters on Sep 1
Minister for Major & Medium Irrigation Mr. Kadiyam Srihari said that the Government will be instituting All-Party meting for discussing on Krishna river waters from neighboring state on September 1, 2002. Te meeting will be mainly to discuss on the course of action of the Andhra Pradesh Government. The Minister also told that the Water levels from Sri Sailam and Nagarjuna Sagar are still low and that 'we need to think twice' when releasing water.

Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud appealed to the extremists to release the constable Chitti Babu who has little or no role to play at the Police Station. Home Minister reminded that Mr. Chittibabu was a Girijan and asked for his release on humanitarian grounds.

Minister Pocharam Srinuvasa Rao said that the pending posts in Village Secretaries will be completed at the earliest and that Department-wise training program will be conducted to all Sarpanchs and Secretaries once in 15 days will be conducted.

Minister for Transport, Mr. BV Mohana Reddy made a surprise visit to the RTC Printing Press and RTC Body Building Unit in Hyderabad. He said that the main aim of the RTC was to provide better services to the public. He said that 222 mandals in the state will be getting new Bus Stations and that the new low level footboard buses will be introduced from November.

The Telugu Desam Party said that it is meeting with 11 of its affiliate members at a district level. Top leaders of the party have already completed their meeting with 4 districts. The spokesman of the party said that these meetings are main aimed at stop the lack of understanding between members.

The Central Bank of India introduced two new cards as an attempt to get closer with its customer. Governor Dr. C Rangarajan introduced the Central Bank Master Card Electron Card in Hyderabad. The CMD of the Bank Mr. Dalbindar Singh was present at the inauguration function.

Prof. G Anantswamy was the new Vice Chancellor of Osmania University. Sri Anantaswamy was earlier Professor at the Chemistry Department at the University.

Rtd. Chief Engineer Mr. D Bhaskara Rao was nominated as the Commissioner of Enquiries.
