National Games postponed for December 2002 The 32nd National Games scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from 15 November 2002 were postponed to December. A Meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu decided to postpone the Games. Speaking to the press, the Chairman of National Olympic Committee Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, said that the decision was taken so as to give rest to the who will be taking part in Asian Games. Chief Minister said that they are ready to allocate more funds for the development of sports in the state. The Mascot and Logo of National Games was released by Governor Dr. Rangarajan. Surprise attack by PWG on Anakapalle and Chodavaram Police Stations Extremists of the People's War Group CPI-ML Group, on Friday, made a sudden attack on the Police Stations of Anakapalle and Chodavaram which come under Visakhapatnam District. They destroyed the Police Records and took away ammunition from the Police Stations besides making the sub-treasury office hay way. Four cops were being held by the Extremists under hostage. Dr. Rajagopalan - a prominent doctor from North Carolina who was in Andhra Pradesh to train a team of doctors at Global Hospitals said that diabetes can be cured by replacing the pancreas of the patient with healthy pancreas. Speaking to Press, Dr. Rajagopalan said that patients can be fit with pancreas from a dead patient. Minister Sri P Srinivas Reddy took part in the District Development Meet at Anantapur and discussed on various problems of farmers. Pradesh Congress Party Kisan Majdoor meet was held at the Gandhi Bhawan in Hyderabad. Senior Congress Leader and Chief guest at the meet Mr. Balram Jackar said that the Government failed to solve the drought situation in the state. PCC Party President Mr. M Satyanarayana Rao presided at the meet. Minister for Agriculture Mr. Vadde Shobhanadreeswara Rao visited the Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture College today and monitored the facilities there. He spoke with officials from Chitoor, Kurnool, Anantapur and discussed on seeds distribution and various other issues. TDP Leader and Minister for Civil Supplies Mr. Kodela Sivaprasada Rao called the TDP members and workers to go against the congress policies. He attended the Telugu Desam Party meet in Guntur and spoke on the occasion.
