AP asks for Rs. 810 Crores to Center
The Government of Andhra Pradesh asked the Center for an aid of Rs. 810 Crores to take the drought situation in the state. As many as 836 mandals were recognized to be in a severe drought state. Chief Minister after a meeting with his cabinet also directed the Co-Operative societies not to forcibly recover loans at this point of time.

6 naxals dies in encounters
It was a usual exchange of fire between the Naxals and the Police Force. Encounters in Prakasam and Warangal districts left 6 naxals dead and recovery of Light Machine Guns and other ammunition.

Two Naxals of the CPI ML (Janashakti) group surrendered before the SP Mr. VV Srinuvasa Rao in Khammam. Among those who were surrended is Bhukya Venkanna aged 18 who joined the Naxal group last year.

Mr. FS Layaq Ali was appointed as the General Secretary of the State BJP Minority Morcha.

The CITU staged a dharna in front of the District Collector Office against the polices of the Vice Chancellor of Andhra University. They demanded for the withdrawal of the VC, removal of cases against the students and removal of Police picketing from the University.
