Andhra Pradesh Congress Party has announced its candidates as G V Harsha Kumar for Rajahmundry Mayor and Mr. K Karunakar Reddy as candidate for Chairman for Tirupati. Some supporters of other candidates staged a dharna at Gandhi Bhawan for over 4 hours.

Telangana Rastra Samithi said that Telangana people were not allotted the desired number of lands being distributed by the State Government recently.

GITEX 2002 Exhibition opens
Governor Sri Rangarajan inaugurated the GITEX 2002 Exhibition in Hyderabad. He said that Hardware is an integral part of Information Technology and it should not be ignored. The exhibition was jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Government and Dubai World Trade Center. Governor also inaugurated the 3E Software developed by E-Business and Telecom company iLabs Limited.

SBI Managing Director Mr. Y Radhakrishna said that the Bank will be spending between Rs. 500 to Rs. 600 Crores to increase its technology infrastructure and increase its quality of services in the next 3 years. He inaugurated 3 ATM's of the Bank in Hyderabad.

Senior Socialist Leader and Former MP and MLA, Sri Bejawada Papireddy died in Hyderabad. He is 75. Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolence to the family members of Sri Papireddy.

Bangalore police arrested two persons in Hyderabad in connection with fraud to an extent of Rs. 3 Crore rupees. The two, Amit Kumar Sinha and Prasanth Kumar Sinha were operating an from Hyderabad and have been cheating people saying they provide scholarships. A Special team from Bangalore recovered Rs. 5 Lakhs in cash, a Laptop computer and Two-wheelers from their office.

Mr. Sharad Kumar Dixit - Eminent Surgeon in Plastic Surgery began treating patients in Visakhapatnam as a part of his tour to the city. He treated as many as 81 patients by 8:45 PM at the local CDR Hospitals.
