The Filing of Nominations for the post of Mayor of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporations were completed today. Mr. Nagendar stood as the Mayor candidate for Congress while Theegala Krishna Reddy stood on TDP ticket. Mr. Ali was standing from MIM Party, Mr. Madhusudhan Reddy from TRS and Ramaswami as candidate for TSS.

TDP President Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu said that MIM would not be a competitor for the party and that development programmes will come to a stand still if MIM wins. He also felt that the effect or TRS and TSS will not be visible.

Mr. Kodanda Reddy of Congress staged a demonstration opposite Gandhi Bhavan saying that the real candidates who worked for the party were not selected as corporators. Mayor Candidate Mr. Nagendar tried to calm down and said that he will discuss on the issue with the PCC President.

Secretary for School Education Mr. J V Subba Rao said that the Government is considering the re-introduction of the mid day meal scheme shortly.

Indian Airlines Officers Association Meet was held recently in Hyderabad. The meet said that the reassurance to the public can be given only when they were explained with the safety measures being taken.
