Martyrs Day observed
CM begins his foreign trip
Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu left for a foreign trip today. He will be visiting Ireland, USA and other countries and is expected to talk with industralists there on possible investment opportunities in the state.

PCC Officer bearers met today at Gandhi Bhawan and began analysing the outcome of recent Municipal elections. Show cause notices were issued to Sri Kodandarami Reddy, Sri S R Ramesh and others.

Minister for Secondary Education Sri Karanam Ramachandra Rao said that rules being implemented in Government Junior Colleges shall also be implemented in private colleges. He spoke at Rastra Unaided Junior Colleges Managements Association meet held in Vijayawada.

Minister Sri Kadiyam Srihari said that 7 contractors were issued show cause notice and an engineer was suspended for their misappropriations in regard to Velugodu Reservoir. Minister today visited the area and began enquiry.

Martyrs Day observed

The Governor, Dr C. Rangarajan paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi in connection with the death anniversary of the Mahatma observed as Martyrs Day. Mr. Rangarajan said non-violence, love and the need to adopt the right means propagated by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, had to be understood in the right perspective. The Governor was accompanied by his wife, Haripriya. Minister for Tourism, Mr T. Srinivas Yadav, the APCC chief, M. Satyanarayaha Rao, D. Nagender, MLA. and the former Minister, J. Geetha Reddy, offered tributes. The 54th death anniversary of the Mahatma was also observed at the Gandhi Bhavan with senior party leaders Mr K. Rosaiah, Satyanarayaria Rao, Y.S. Rajaisekara Reddy, D. Srinivas and others paying tributes.

Train No. 7606, Tungabadra Express between Secunderabad and Kurnool, will henceforth be terminated at Kacheguda railway station. The South Central Railway expressing regrets to the public said because of new rail lines, signal work along with some more modifications to be carried out the train has to be discontinued.

The Deputy Inspector General of the Hyderabad region of the Central Bureau of Investigation, KP Prabhakar rao has been on promotion as Inspector General been transferred and posted as Joint Director-East of the bureau in Calcutta. In place of Mr. Rao, N Dilip has been posted who has been promoted as DIG.
