Technical Snap hinders power supply in the state
A Technical snap for the 220KW Power line at Eastern Grid was developed between Vidyeswaram - Vijayawada Thermal Power Plant lines. This led to interruption of power supply in the state and Karnataka. Power supply to Hyderabad and other areas in the state were temporarily restored. With this NTPC, KTPS, RTPS and other units tripped. Power to Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Rayalaseema and other districts was cut. Mr. Gandhi, Director - Transco said that 60% of operations were normal and that work is one to see that power is restored and normalcy is restored.

CM asks to look for alternative to counter power grid problems
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu held a meet with Ministers and other experts at Secretariat and asked to device steps to see that power will restored from a different area when a technical snag develops in one of the project. Minister Mr. K Subba Rayudu said that Genco was asked to make sure that project wise isolation should be done so that such major problems can be easily solved.

Trains comes to a stand still at Vijayawada
Many trains were halted at Vijayawada for some time due to power distribution problem at the power grid. Tirupati-Howrah Express and many other express trains were blocked. Southern Railway was provided with power from South Central Railway. Power Supply to the Visakhapatnam - Vijayawada line was restored with the help of power from the Eastern Grid.

All arrangements for tomorrows Municipal election counting completed
All arrangements for the counting procedure for the recently help Municipal elections were completed in Hyderabad. As many as 14 counters were setup for the counting process that begins tomorrow. Special Returning Officers, Sector Incharge and Ward Incharge were arranged and are provided with Cellphone or Telephones for faster communication. Special Cell is being set up at MCH to provide updated results.

A 60-year old women died when a injection given to her reacted. The women took the injection following a cataract injection and within no time she fell dead. The incident took place in Kakkulapalle villege in Anantapur District.

The Election Commission announced the percentage of voting held in various Municipalities. Hyderabad was actually reported to have got only 42.9%, Rajahmundry Corporation counted 60.93%, Gaddeannaram with 53.75%, Tirupati with 53.75%, Hindupur with 66.51 and Markapuram with 63.41%

The Notification for EAMCET 2002 was released by JNTU. As specified earlier, the entrance examination was scheduled to be held on 29 April 2002. The last receipt of the filled forms is 2 March 2002.
