Municipal Elections for Hyderabad, Tirupati, Rajahmundry ends peacefully
Municipal Elections begins
The Municipal Elections in Hyderabad ended peacefully. Voters are seens casting their votes right from the early polling hours. Among leaders who casted their votes today were Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu, TRS leader Mr. Narayana Narasimha Reddy, MIM Chief Salauddin Owaisi. About 55% of polling was reported in Hyderabad. Counting for these elections will be done on 24th.

Rigging was reported in some areas in Hyderabad Corporation Elections today. It has been reported that some MIM candidates are involved in rigging in some voting booths at Pattarghatti and Pathabasti of Hyderabad.

Congress Candidate for Mayor for Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mr. Narendar said that TDP brought some people from outside Hyderabad and made them to participate in the elections.

Congress and TDP said that they were confident of winning the Tirupati Municipal Polling. Police arrested Senior Congress Leader Mr. G Muddukrishnam Naidu, Varadaraju Reddy, Vivekananda Reddy and other supporters. TDP Candidate Mr. Shankar Reddy felt that women votes will turn in to their favor. Independent candidate Mr. Devanarayana Reddy questioned the need for too much police forces which has been keeping people away for casting their votes.

Telugu Desam Party said that the Municipal elections outcome will be towards the TDP only and this was possible due to timely and effective functionality of Election Commission, Police and Government. TDP spokesman said that are successful in restricting MIM and Congress. It requested for repelling in 17 polling stations in Hyderabad.

The polling in Markhapur Municipal Chairperson elections ended peacefully with 65% poll turnover.

Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation election counted 60% turnover with over 2.11 lakh voters exercising their vote. A Photographer and a journalist were injured when the police tried to clear a mob and restored to lathi charge.

The State Election Commission said that the thumb impressions it has obtained will be an exclusive property of the commission and that the information cannot be used by any other department including the Police.

A farmer Mr.P Nagi Reddy committed suicide in his home town of Dharmavaram in Anantapur following increased bank loan which he was unable to clear.

2 people died and 5 injured in a road accident at Itikyala, Mahaboobnagar. The injured are getting treatement at a Public hospital in Mahaboobnagar. The Accident happened when they are returning in a taxi from Kothagudem when a Lorry hit them.

Four persons were arrested by the Visakhapatnam Police for possession of country made pistols.
