Minister for Khadi, Small Scale Industries and DWACRA Sri Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy said that IT enabled services will generate more employment facilities and that the Government will be providing incentives to Call Centers, Medical Transcription, Insurance and other sectors. Minister for Fishers - Mr. Narasimha Rao said that the fishers in Andhra will be introduced with the International Market soon. Minister Pocharam said that Neeru - Meeru programme was a success and that the water levels in the state has dramatically increased and thus the Government will be continuing the program.

PCC wants CPM to join in struggle against power hike
PCC President Mr. M Satyanarayana Rao said that CPM is hindering the Congress from taking a campaign against the Government and resisting any further increase of power. Meanwhile, CPM Secretary Mr. CV Raghavulu said that if the Government purchased power from the Central Power Corporation, it would have saved over Rs. 400 Crores. CPM said that it was the Left Parties decision not to join with Congress in fighting against power tariff increase issue as Congress was slow when it comes to action.

The Twin Cities Businessmen's association rallied today demanding the Government to take an immediate step and transfer the Kotturu and Shadnagar SI's involved in the Kotturu incident in which an industrialist was beaten.

SC Railway reports profits
South Central Railway reported a profit of Rs. 3099 Crores by the year ending till Jan 2002. This was stated by the General Manager of South Central Railway Mr. Shingla. He said that the transport of Cement was down this year.

Minister S Saraswathi said that the Government is considering increasing the age for marriage for women to 21 and 25 for men. She said that a law to this effect will be brought. She said that there will be a provision making it compulsory to register any marriage being held. She said that sale of infant children were taking because of lapse in Governmental and Non-Governmental institutions.

Dr. S Chellappa - Secretary for Women and Child Welfare Department said that Andhra Pradesh was at the top in terms of prostitution levels and this is of great concern. These levels can be brought down only when change in mind sets of people is brought.

The State Board of Technical Education released the notification for Common Entrance Examination for Admission into Polytechnics in Andhra Pradesh. The Date of Commencement of sale of Application forms begins from February 19, 2002 and last date for submission of the same is April 4, 2002. The Date of the CEEP 2002 Examination will be on April 28, 2002.

Minister for IT Serives, Mr. B Gopala Krishna Reddy said that the exports from the Software Sector in the state were less than Rs. 2600 Corers a year. This was 30% more than the previous year.
