Home Minister admits that he asked CM to get Nair transferred
Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud admitted that it is he who asked the Chief Minister on the transfer of Mr. Nair to another post. The Minister made the various suggestions made by Mr. Nair to the Home Ministry. He said that the discussions on the Budget after it was made public was successfully going and that subsidy on power will be provided.
Left Parties to resist any more hike in Power tarrifs
CPI, CPI(M) and Left Parties met today in Hyderabad and said that they will work to see that the power prices will not be hiked. They said that they will write a letter requesting the same to the Regulatory Commission and that they will attend the public hearing to show their disagreement. They commented that the purchase of power at a higher cost was because of the Government's favor to private companies. The Left Parties are also planning to organise district level meetings to educate the people and distribute leaflets. The meet also demanded the Government to hold an enquiry into comments made by Mr. Nair.
Oath function of Counsellors to be held at Counselling hall only
Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad Commissioner Mr. Mohanty said that the Oath taking function of the Corporation Councilors will be held at the newly developed MCH Counselling hall only instead of the earlier proposed Lalitha Kala toranam. It may be recalled that Congress and MIM has boycotted that function if it is held at Lalitha Kala toranam. The new Counselling Hall will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
