State budget introduced
State budget introduced
The State Government introduced the state Budget in the Assembly today. Revenue Minister Sri Yenamala Ramakrishnudu introduced the same and said that key sectors were given more preference in the years budget. He said that the same was made according to recommendations from experts in various fields and that improvement to the presentation will be taken in the upcoming sessions. The Budget is a Tax Free budget with a deficit of Rs. 8.68 Crores

CLP Leader Sri Y S Rajasekhar Reddy said that the budget was something like old wine in new bottle and that it was not designed in view of the people of the state. He said that the budget reflects the bankruptcy state of the Government.

BJLP said that the there is no difference between the pre-budget and the actual budget and that no change is visible except 10% changes in values made with computers.

MIM said that the Budget did not talk about development works to be undertaken for the Old City and financial allocations for Urdu language. He forecasted that the state will further become death traps More fiscal revenue deficits

Senior Leader Sri N Narasimhulu said that key fields were not identified and sufficient preference was not given. He said that except the DFID program, no other program truly related with the situation in Andhra Pradesh.

Other leaders said that Telangana has no mentioning and that it was completely ignored. They said that Backward sectors funds were allocated to industrial sector this year.

Chief Minister expressed satisfaction at the Budget and that discussions on the same will be held in the Assembly for which the reply by Government on Mar 2, 2002.

CLP asks for House Committe to look into Food for Work program
CLP Leader Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy asked the Government to organise a house committee to look into misappropriations in 'Food for Work' program in various districts in the state. CLP Leader argued that the program turned as a Telugu Desam party members food program. TRS Leader Sri Chandrasekhara Rao suggested that specified guide lines have to be provided in regard to the program for Grama Panachayat and Zilla Parishads.

Replying to this, Chief Minister said that the Government has already framed guide lines to an extent and that there were no specified guidelines from the Central Government. He agreed to provide All-Party meetings on a weekly basis if required on the program and sort the problem out however, rejected calling tenders for the same. The Assembly took a unanimous decision to request the Central Government to extend the program till June 2.

Governor Dr. Rangarajan inaugurated the modern DNA Finger Priniting Lab setup by AP Forensic Laboratory in Hyderabad. Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud said that the facility will be extended to district level. Speaking at with the press, Mr. KP Gandhi said that this facility is one of its kind in the country and that a sample from the crime spot a person can be collected and rechecked at the Lab with the latest equiptment with 100% accuracy.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Mr. Hussain visited Andhra Pradesh today. He said that modern runway for the Begumpet Airport will be undertaken at a cost of Rs. 60 Crores. He said that Prime Minister Mr. Vajpey has not said that BJP does not require Muslim votes and that BJP is committed to secularity.

A Delegation of members from Atheist Center, Rationalists Association of India and others met Governor Dr Rangarajan urged for the probe into murders at Sri Satya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam at Puttaparthy.
