Vishwa Hindu Parishad questioned the Courts on why they were involing in the Ram Janmabhooi issue. Speaking at a meet, Mr. Praveen Dagadia of VHP said that they have started to mobilise people to participate in Rama Naama Japayagnam. March 15th is scheduled to be the day on which the foundation for the temple. He said that this is the time for politicians to decide on whom they are supporting.

Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that the level of subsidies given for the power section were exceeding the limits and have reached the peaks. He said that the Government has been depending on loans from out side.

PCC Office Bearers meeting discussed on taking action on those who are not following the words of the leaders, the Government's proposal of hiking the power prices and on Naxals issue. The meeting was headed by Sri M Satyanarayana Rao and was held at Gandhi Bhawan. Members in the meet suggested that the party has to frame out an action plan against the Government on hike on power.

CLP Leader Sri Y S Rajasekhar commented that the TDP-led Government has been making the state as economically backward. He said that the loans that were taken was too high and out of reach. CLP Leader released a book written by him. The 30-page booklet was entitled 'Argentina disaga Andhra'.

Sri K Rosayya said that the idea behind making the budget proposal public is that it was an indirect way of taking approval of the public to hike in taxes.

The Trader who was recently killed by two constables who beat him severely were dismissed for their service. Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud who met the family members of the trader announced this in Mahabubnagar. The Minister said that this is an unfortunate incident and that the Government condemns any such incidents.

The Divisional Bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court has banned smoking in the Court Premises of High Court and all Sub-Ordinate courts in the state.

The Rules Committee of the Legislature has agreed to amend a new method of selecting Questions by lots system. This method will be followed in the Assembly sessions that begin from Friday.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is likely to bring out a law making it compulsory to make school education. This was proposed to get a 100% literacy rate in the state by 2005.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tejdeep Kaur Menon was presented the TL Kapadia Endowment Award by the Health Minister Sri N Janardhan Reddy at a program organised at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Hyderabad.

Six Senior Police officers of State Level rank were conferred IPS rank by the Central Government. The officers includes Chava Ramakoti, A Gopal Reddy, CV Seshagiri Rao, P Kishan Rao, JG Murali and Sujata Rao.
