Congress Members stages Walkout

CLP Leader Sri Rajasekhar Reddy asked the question about its policy on the utilisation of Godavari River Water for the upcoming years. Members of the Congress staged a walk our off the Assembly dissatisfied with the reply from the Minister.

Union Minister Sri Venkiah Naidu said that Rs. 20 Crores towards Sanitary works for schools in Nellore was sanctioned by the Government.

Members of the TRS staged a Dharna in Warangal. They argued that the TDP has used mis-appropriations and were caught red handed by the police and yet no appropriate action was taken on them.

Singareni Collieries Unions stage rally
Members of various unions of Singareni Collieries staged a Rally in Hyderabad against Privitisation of certain blocks. They say that the Central and State Governments are coming out with a plan in regard to Privitisaion of Government owned industries.

Visakhapatnam District Collector Mr. J S V Prasad said that Rs. 18 Crores was allocated for Food for Work scheme.

Chinna Sesha Vaahanam seva for Lord Srinivasa
The Chinna Sesha Vaahanam & Hamsa Vahanam for Lord Sri Venkateswara was held as a part of Sri Vaari Brahmotsavam Celebrations at Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam, Tirupati.

CM holds meeting on Power situation in the state
Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said that due to the drought situation in the state, the State Government has to face a subsidy of Rs. 1600 Crores for the Power sector in the state. He addressed the TDP members at the Assembly Hall. Due to less power input to the state, Hyderabad will have to face power cut for 2 hrs starting October. He also said that Spot payment of Electricity Bills will shortly be started in Hyderabad.

YSR releases book on Telugu Poems
CLP Leader Sri Y S Rajasekhar Reddy released a book "Santivanam" - a collection of Telugu Poems written by Marripudi Devendar Rao. The book was dedicated to Sri Reddy.

Dr. Y Venkata Rami Reddy, Vice Chancellor of JNTU was reappointed for further term of three years.
