Time for Green Buildings

Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Sri Bandaru Dattatreya said that Urban Populations count to more than 30% of the Indian population and that the need for shelter - particularly the basic amenities are important. He spoke at the Green Building Congress 2001 at Hyderabad. Minister for Roads and Buildings, Mr. K Vijayarama Rao, Mr. Rajesh Menon and Mr. D V Manohar of CII also took part in the meet.

Mob attacks Police personnel
A violent mob attacked on Police personnel in Kottakuru of Nellore District. Three Policewomen were injured as the mob attacked with sticks and chilli powder.

Sri Dronam Raju resigns

Senior Congress Leader Sri Dronam Raju Satyanarayana resigned from the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee. He said that it will not bring him any honour as the Executive Member. He wrote a letter to Ms. Sonia Gandhi, President of AICC in this regard.
