Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu met the Prime Minister Atul Bihari Vajpayee and requested him to extend the Food-for-Work scheme to extend till May next year in drought affected areas in the state. The Prime Minister assured him to send a team to the state to survey the damage caused by the recent floods in Cuddapah and Nellore districts. The Prime Minister also assured him that Andhra Pradesh could become the permanent host to display the Nizam's Jewellery which is currently in National Museum in New Delhi.
Rayalaseema first than Telangana - says Jana
BJP Spokesman Mr. Jana Krishnamurty attended a meeting today in Kurnool. Senior Leaders including Mr. Venkiah Naidu and Mr. Krishnam Raju also attended the meeting. They decided to form a Subcommittee to develop Rayalaseema area. The leaders felt that Rayalaseema is to be developed first rather than the Telangana.
Union Minister for Rural Development Mr. Venkiah Naidu said that 10,000 crores is being allocated to develop Rural areas of the country. He also said that enough funds will be allocated to the Sadak Yojana scheme.
TDP leader Ms. Uma reddy Venkateswarulu requested the APSRTC Employees to stop their strike and come back to their work keeping the people in concern. She said that Congress and other parties are making this issue political.
Senior Leader Mr. Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy inaugurated a discussion to ban Gutkha in the state. He demanded the Government to ban Gutkha as it is injurious to health and students are habituated to this.Famous doctor Mr. Chandhrakantha Rao also participated in the meet.
The Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Mr. V Hanumantha Rao was admitted to the CARE Hospital when he complained chest pain. The Doctors said that his condition is stable.
