Dusshera Celebrated all over
People from Andhra Pradesh celebrated the festival of Dusshera today. Devotees in large numbers visited temples and prayed to the Lordess Durga. Special Poojas were held at Lordess Kanadurga Temple in Vijayawada.
Special Training for Hyderabad City Police soon
Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu said that a special organisation will be setup for the Hyderabad City Police to counter attack against various modern crimes. He inaugurated the newly built modern Baheerabugh Police Control. This new Control room is equipped with GIS, GPS and other facilities. Any part of the twin-cities can be monitored with this service. All Vehicles movements can be monitored. This facility allows police to take a closer look at Crime Spots in the twin cities aswell. Home Minister Sri T Devendar Goud said that the Government will be providing all modern facilities to the Police personnel from top Officials to Constable level staff. He also stressed the need for standardizing the twin city Traffic system.
No need for war against Pakistan on Kashmir issue - says Gen. Krishna Rao
Gen. K V Krishna Rao said that India should support any country who fights against Terrorism. He said that the problem on Terrorism in Kashmir is not as critical as waging a war against Pakistan and a solution can be done with dialogue between the two countries. He commented that lack of security for Defense personnel and lack of conviction for captured militants was the drawback. He spoke at a seminar on Afghan War - Effect on India organised by Press Academy, Hyderabad.
Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu said that unless the Indian farmer develops his technology, it becomes difficult to face threat from food grains imported from various international countries. He inaugurated Dr. N G Ranga University's Multi-functional University Auditorium today. Speaking at the meet, Agriculture Minister Sri Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao said that the University has to implement schemes that were more useful to the farmer sector of the state in similar lines to Punjab University.

ASPRTC Employee strike entered 12th day
The strike of the ASPRTC Employee strike entered 12th day with no possible solution reached between the Government and the Employee Unions. The Unions commented that the Government has not been coming out with any positive proposals.
Naxals of the Peoples War Group blasted vehicles of MEC Company in Gundala Mandal. The leaflet left by Naxals said that they did this in retaliation to the killing of its member Mr. Suryam. The loss due to blast of the vehicles is Rs. 25 Lakhs.
Two persons were fered drowned in the Teppotsavam fete of Lordess Kanakadurga in Vijayawada when the fire crackers accidentally fell on a boat.
