Union Minister for Finance, Mr. Yashwant Sinha launched the Retail Credit Card for Small Entrepreneurs in the state at Nellore today. He said that the scheme will be extended for the remaining states in the country. Union Minister for Rural Development Mr. M Venkaiah Naidu was also present at the programme.
State Police to concentrate on borders
The Director General of Police Sir H K Dora said that the State Police has been more concentrating on the borders with Orissa, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh from where there is possibility of Naxals to come to the state. He said that Computerisation of Police stations was going in a phased manner.
The Hyderabad Task Force seied about 6675 blank fake certificates of various universities and a deer hide in its raids.
e-Payment services launched
Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated "e-Payment" service which allows payment of Electricity and Water Bills through banks. The banks offering this service includes ICICI, GTP, UTI and HDFC Banks.
Left Parties support APSRTC Employees strike
The Left Parties including CPI and CPI(M) said that they will be supporting the strike by APSRTC Employees who are demanding for a wage revision. The RTC strike is expected to be held on October 15, 2001.
Five Persons were arrested and fake currency notes worth Rs. 25,000 were seized by them by the Kurnool Police in Ongole.
