State Cabinet decides to implement Justice Punnayya Commission Report
The State Cabinet met under the presidentship of Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu. The Cabinet first paid homage to leaders Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy and Sri Madhavarao Scindia. Disclosing the meetings outcome to the Press, Chief Minister Sri Babu said that Electricity theft will need to be controlled and that transmission losses be minimized. The Government of also decided to decrease fines and other types of surcharges of bills. The suggestions made by the Justice Punnayya committee were also accepted and that the implementations of the report will begin from November 2001.
Security at all Courts in Naxal regions
DGP Sri H K Dora said that the Security will be provided at Courts in Naxal prone areas in the state.
Mandal President of Khanapur killed by Naxals
The Mandal President of Khanapur area of Warangal, Mr. Ramulu was killed by naxalites this afternoon by Naxals when he is returning back home on his motor vehicle. Mr. Ramulu died on the spot. Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud condemned the attack and said that it is wrong on the Naxals to kill People's representatives.
