APSRTC busses back on roads

All RTC Busses back on road
Almost all APSRTC Busses were on road with most of the employee of all Unions getting back to their duty. The Joint Action Committee of the Employee Unions said that they will continue to work and see that private operators will not come into basic transportation.

Central Water Commission team visits Prakasam Barrage
A 4-member Central observatory team visited the Krishna Delta and monitored the conditions of Prakasam Barrage upon request by Irrigation Department. The team will be analyzing and releasing sufficient funds for the development and repair works of the barrage. The team also included a special team from IIT, Madras who monitored and recommended some technical modifications to be done to the Barrage.

CLP Secretary, Mr. M V Maisoora Reddy asked the Electricity Regulatory Commission to check out all the Long term and short term deals made by AP Transco. He asked the Commission to verify and see that the project costs are decreased and that charges on the people should be reduced as much as possible. He also wrote a letter to Prime Minister in this regard and commented that the state Government is not looking after the needs of the people and is supporting misappropriations. He also demanded for an investigation by CBI and CVC.

Prof. P Murali took over as the new Vice Chancellor of S V University. Prof. Murali was Rector at the same university.

Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu said that the State Government will be awarding Sewa Awards for outstanding Government Department and Private Organisations. He inaugurated a meet on Analysis of the first six months of the 2001-02 financial year. Many State Ministers and Financial Departments heads were present at the meet. A Special Committee will be formed for identification of the outstanding institution. CM requested Departments to dramatically cut down their non-planned expenditure.

Staff and Workers Federation says they were not satisfied with the deal
Staff and Workers Federation said that they have not signed on the agreement between the APSRTC Employee Unions and the Government. They said that they did not get a clear cut commitment from the Management on some of their demands. Mr. Lakshmayya, Secretary of SWF spoke with the press at Makineni Bhawan today.

Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud said that the Government is strong and determined in regard to its work for increasing literacy rate by 2005. He also felt concerned at the increasing number of dropout's from Ranga Reddy.
