District Collectors Meet begins at Hyderabad

District Collectors Meeting began at Hyderabad today. The meeting is headed by Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu. All District Collectors in the state, Ministers of various Departments were present at the meet. Speaking at the meet, Chief Minister asked the Collectors to try to analyse the spending before hand and see that the necessary funds were allocated at the right time. He said that the State Budget preparations will be made transparent and that work for this should work before hand.

Freedom Fighter Sri Vandemataram Ramachandra Rao passed away today in Hyderabad. Chief Minister Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, Home Minister Mr. Devendar Goud paid tributes to him.

Panchayat Raj Minister Mr. Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh stands first in constructing permanent houses to Scheduled Caste and Tribes. He said that Andhra stands first in helping people from SC & ST and that the Government is always committed towards this.

AP School Games Federation state level Gymnastic Competitions started in Warangal today. Competitions were held in Under 14, Under 17, Under 19 categories. About 200 people from 10 districts were participating in the competitions.

The Telugu Desam Party has sent a show cause notice to Anakapalle MLA Mr. Dadi Veerabadara Rao who went aggressive on Mr. Yerram Naidu's involvement in influencing the party president while picking up candidate for the reshuffled cabinet yesterday. The letter was severed to Mr. Dadi by the party General Secretary Mr. Lal Jan Basha who said that there is no need in commenting in public on such issues. Mr. Dadi who has not yet received the notice is expected to reply back in a week days time.

Two more farmer committed suicide in Nerella and Thippuapalli of Karimnagar due to failure of their cotton crop and increase of debts.

Air Marshal Mr. V K Bhatia released a book entitled "Nation in Crisis" written by Brig. G R Reddy at the Seminar Hall of the College of Defense Management in Hyderabad.

The Chief Commissioner of Income Taxes said that the last date for filing of Income Tax returns in Form 2C under the one-by-six scheme is November 30, 2001.

Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidhya Parishad took out a rally to the Andhra University - "Chalo AU" asking the University Jurisdiction to look into their problem.

Manikanta, a rowdy sheeter in Tirupati was killed yesterday night when he was sleeping. The police said that they are searching for the murderers.
