Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a program against Untouchability at Medak District Peddareddy Peta. He said that strict action will be taken against any one who discriminates between Dalits and Non-dalits. He performed prayers in temple along with Dalits and also took his lunch with them. He said that caste, creed and color are boundaries that we have set and we need to come out of this for a better society. He said that the program will be taken 2 days at the end of every month.
Govt. welcomes Naxal groups to join mainstream
Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu welcomed Naxals and terrorist group to come out and join the main stream of society. He took part in special programs held to commemorate the Andhra Pradesh Statehood day. He extended wishes to all Telugu Communities round the world. He said that peace should be acquired and that the Government will promote any cause for peace. He said that the Government will not discriminate any area of the state and that any neglected areas will be immediately identified and see that development works in the area begin. He promised to bring Krishna river water to the Telangana area.
Telangana leaders agitate for Telangana Statehood
Members of Telangana Congress MLA's Forum, TRS and TSS staged demonstration at Gunpark Garden at the Andhra Pradesh Legislature demanding the statehood for Telangana region. They paid homage to leaders who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana. Popular Writer Sri Kaloji Narayana Rao also took part in the program.
Congress to oppose privitisation of APSRTC
PCC President Sri M Satyanarayana Rao said that they will not agree for privitisation of APSRTC or any increase in tickets. He said that Congress will strictly oppose any such moves.
Junior Doctors and Medical College Students begin strike
About 4000 Junior Doctors and 10,000 Medical College Students began their strike today. They were demanding for reduction of fees for PG College courses, extension of GO 91, Medical college recognition, Abolishing of GO 284, Special Funds for libraries, Residency method and cancellation of Hospital Development fund from fees. They said that they have chosen AP State Formation Day to remind the Government of their demands. Only Emergency cases are currently being treated and they warned that they will discontinue the same if the Government fails to respond positively.
1 dies as landmine setup by Peoples War Group explodes
Peoples War Group Naxals blasted a landmine when a Government Jeep carrying 3 people of Agriculture Department in Adilabad in early hours of the day. The Driver of the jeep died on the spot while 2 Department workers escaped with injuries.
