Andhra Pradesh Governor C Rangarajan said that tobacco farmers have to look for other commercial crops as alternatives. He asked the youth to stop smoking. He also released some posters and flagged off a rally.
15 Police members when people attacked the police with sticks, Iron rods and Stones in Guntur. The police tried to keep the condition under control were some youth went into indecent acts of dancing in Jothapudi area. The police then opened fired in air. The villagers damaged SI Jeep . 30 people were arrested and the condition is in control. 10 people were injured in the incident. 2 SI's were injured. The people in the region jammed the traffic on the National Highway. 144 Section was introduced in the area.
Various Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party took oath of their Polit bureau membership at NTR Trust Bhavan in Hyderabad. Earlier Chandrababu Naidu garlanded the statue of Sri NT Rama Rao. He later told the members that Telugu Desam Part has been working in all possible ways to strengthen the party and requested for the support of the members in this regard.

The 15th Janmabhoomi programme will begin from tomorrow. Government has allocated Rs. 293 Crores for the various developments. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu will be officially inaugurating the programme at Adilabad district. He said that Promoting of Family Planning, Gas Connections through Deepam Pathakam and Funds allocation to DWACRA Groups were also part of this Janmabhoomi Programme.

PCC President Sri M Satyanarayana asked the Congress members not to make any more mistakes and stay united at a Congress Members meet in Visakhapatnam. One Naxal was killed in an encounter by the police in Nizamabad. The Police who got information that the Naxals were holding a meeting went to the area and fired at the Naxals only after the Naxals started to fire at them.
Lok Satta meet was held at Warangal
5 persons were 11 more were injured in a Road accident at B Tandrapadu area of Kurnool district when a lorry collided with an APSRTC Bus.
