Mrs. Anita Sen - wife of Additional DGP Mr. Swaranjit Sen and the chief accused in Child Adoption case of Precious Moments surrendered before the Metropolitan Court today. Magistrate Mr. Andanda Rao asked her to be in Judicial Remand till 30th.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu monitored the various programmes being taken up under the Neeru Meeru programme in Khammam.
A Team of Members from the World Bank visited Ranga Reddy district and monitored the various projects taken up with the World Bank funds. They visited an exhibition set up by DWACRA Mahila Group. The team later met with Minister Sri Yenamala Ramakrishnudu. The Minister explained about various developments programmes being undertaken with the World Bank funds.
Minister for Agriculture Mr. V Sobhanadreswara Rao said that the previous governments have failed to analyse the WTO rules. He said that the main problem is that the farmers are not getting enough subsidy. He spoke at a Seminar in Vijayawada.
Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud inaugurated a website - Mahanadu Accomidation.com on Mahanadu programme of Telugu Desam Party to be held at Visakhapatnam. He said that the party will debate on various resolutions being passed. He said that a Photo exhibition on Sri NT Rama Rao and various Cultural programmes will be organised on the day.
Visakhapatnam Municipal Commissioner Sri Sanjay Jaju inaugurates Murugan Park developed by a Residential Apartment in Visakhapatnam. He asked the local apartments to install Rain Water harvesting pits in the neighbouring apartments for their own benifit.
The Hyderabad Police arrested 2 persons in a Kidney selling racket. Authorities said that the two were arrested when they tried to sell kidneys to a Chennai based resident.
DGP Sri H K Dora said that the crime rate in the state has come down when compared to other neighboring states such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerla. He inaugurated the Armed Reserve Office Complex in Machilipatnam. MP's Mr. Gadde Rammohan, Mr Ambati Bramhayya, BC Welfare Minister Mr N Narasimha Rao were also present at the function.
The Prasanthi Express was robbed for the second consecutive day between the Pathakothacheruvu and Gooty Railway stations. The train runs between Visakhapatnam and Bangalore.
