TDP Leader at the Lok Sabha Mr. Yerram Naidu said that they will be continuing to support the NDA Government and said they are not demanding the resignation of any minister. However, he said that TDP wants a discussion on the topic.
CLP Leader Sri YS Rajesekhar Reddy raised the question of problems in payments at the Treasuries in various districts. The Government replied that there was no such problem to the best of their knowledge and make sure that there was no such problem and that they never order for stop payment of bills.
Members of CPI & CPM have staged a walkout of the Legislature having been unsatisfied with the response from Revenue Minister in regard to payment of salaries to Grama Sevakas.
The Chennai bound Charminar Express that runs between Hyderabad and Chennai derailed at Guduru at Nellore. 14 bogies of the train met with the accident while 19 injured people were injured. The injured were immediately rushed to the Guduru Public Hospital. The train was running at a very low speed - at about 40kmph. Special arrangements have been made for by Railways and APSRTC to rush the passengers to their home towns. Due to this Pinkaini & Jammu Express have been delayed.
Badminton star Mr. Gopi Chand returned back to Hyderabad today. He was received by Minister Mr. T Seetaram and Sri H K Dora at the Airport. He went to Raj Bhavan in a procession and was greeted by Governor for his achievement. He was later congratulated by Chief Minister. He said that he has been given permission for setting up Badminton Academy. He also met the CLP Leader Sri YS Raja Sekhar Reddy & Speaker of Legislature Mrs. Prathiba Bharathi. Gopi Chand later spoke at a Meet the Press and discussed about his future plans. He said that he will from now on more focussing on International tournaments.
SSC Exams began today. Strict Police security was deployed at all Examinations to make sure examinations were conducted with no problems. However, students felt the inconvenience of writing the exams on the floor and without some basic facilities such as Water etc. Sri T D Prasada Rao, Director - Public Exams Division said that Spot valuations will be completed by Apr 12 and the Advanced Supplementary exams will be held during May.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with experts in regard to construction of Bridges and the completion of various projects including Sri Sarila Project. Visakhapatnam District Collector Mr. Prasad said that the mild Earthquake was of no danger for the public. He said that the Earthquake was reported at 3 on Richter scale and that the Epicenter was close to Vizag
The Cabinet approved formally to ban the use of Plastic bags in the state due to its environmental concerns. It may be recalled that states such as Kerala and Himachal Pradesh have already banned the use of plastic bags.
A Bomb was disarmed by the Police in TB Hospital Area of Visakhapatnam.
A Tribal Woman was gang raped in Wyra area of Khammam District. Police are on in their investigation.
Seven people died when two lorries collied in Anantapur District. Nine more were injured and are rushed to the hospital.
1 person died while 2 more were severely injured when a motor cycle on which they were travelling lost control in Hyderbad.
