State Minister for Primary Education Sri. K Srihari answered questions raised by the members in the Assembly. He said that Enquiry will be made into a question paper being used at a Zilla Parishad High School in which the TDP Elections symbol Cycle was printed. He said that the Government will be completing the filling of vacant posts in various schools in the state. He also said that construction work of toilets in all Girls High Schools will be completed in 3 months time utilising the funds being allocated in the recent budget.
Congress and Left parties asked the Government to clarify why it was purchasing power from private parties at a higher price. The parties asked the Government for a Judicial enquiry by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court. However, the Government categorically rejected and said that there was no such need to put an enquiry into the issue. Not contended with the response, members of CPM and MIM stages a walkout.
A major fire broke at the Vamsadhara Paper Mills in Madapam area of Srikakulam. The fire broke at around 11 AM in the raw materials premises of the factory.
