4 died in a Road Accident in Kothakota mandal near Mahaboobnagar district at 9 in the morning. The accident happened when a Car hit a Tourist bus going to Puttaparthi from Hyderabad.
4 people died and 5 injured when a Water tank collapsed in a procession in Kurnool District.
Governor Dr. Rangarajan and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu issued their Ugadi greetings to the people of the state. Ugadi is the new year's day for the people of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in India. It is the Chaitra Sudhdha Paadyami or the first day of a lunar year, which generally falls in the months of March or April of the Solar Calendar year. In his address to the people, the Governor wished that Vrushabha will bring about peace and prosperity for the one and all.
A Major fire broke at the AP Transco Power House at Gundala in Vijayawada district. About 2500 Electrical meters were destroyed.
Naxals snatched a walkie-talkie from a a DMU Railway Train Guard. The train runs between Cuttack and Palasa. The incident occured near Mandasala area of Srikakulam District.
