Congress and Left Party members questioned the Government why they have not taken any action in the recent rape case on a Girijan Women in Narayanpur during the Zero Hour of the Assembly session today. Replying to the question, Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud said that compensation has been sent to her vide a cheque which she rejected. He said that he will consider into the matter and see that justice is being done to her.
Members of the Congress asked the question on their stand on the various Residential and SC-ST Schools in the state. The Government replied that the consideration of converting BC Hostels & schools to residential schools will be done. The Government stated that the performance of the SC Hostels in the state is satisfactory.
Minister of Transport Mr. BV Mohan Reddy introduced two bills in the Assembly. The Bills includes amendments to the Municipalities (Second Amendment) Bill, 2001 and Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Bill on behalf of the Minister for Municipalities.
State Minister for Transport said in the Assembly that the Department has been studying the technology being used by other states in building of Roads.
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) decided to introduce 2200 more new buses in this financial year.
About 3 Lakh Rupees was looted from various passengers travelling in Konark - Howrah - Tirupati Express near Nakkapalli near Visakhapatnam District.
A Division Bench of the AP High Court directed the acting Chairman of the Tobacco Board to appear before the court in person on 23 Mar 2001 to answer the allegation of comtempt of court. The Bench took note of the notices issued by the board to some of the farmers on the ground that they were curing the tobacco even after the dismissal of writ petition.
The Organisation Committee of EdCET 2001 has decided to conduct the EdCET 2001 ( Education Common Entrance Test ) on June 17, 2001.
