Accidential blast at a police station
2 police personnel were injured when Detonators accidentally triggered a grande in Choppagani police station in Karimnagar district early this morning. The RSI & Constable who were injured were taken to Hyderabad for medical treatment.
Distribution of Fish Medicine to Ashma Patients begins in Hyderabad
The Fish Medicine given every year by the Bathina Family began in Hyderabad this morning. Thousands of people from round the world queued to the magic medicine which was believed to be a perfect cure for Asthma. The programme began from 5:30 AM this morning and will conclude tomorrow morning. The Fish Medicine will be given every year during the Mrugasira Kaarthika. Among those who took the medicine was the Chief Minister who came to the Exhibition grounds at 1:00 PM. He later visited various stalls and discussed about the problems faced by the people who are standing in the queue. He promised that from next year, a land of 5 acres will be allocated permanently for the distribution of fish medicine and that the Exhibition Grounds was too small to fit in more than 6 Lakh people.
Airports in the state will be developed
Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Sri Sharad Yadav inaugurated the Indian Airlines flight service from Hyderabad to Dubai. Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu was also present at the venue. He said that if more air services are extended to Hyderabad, it becomes possible for the Government to get more projects. He also asked for the implementation of Open Sky Policy. He said that International Airliners such as British Airways and Swiss Air have come forward to start flight schedules from Hyderabad. The Minister also said that Rs. 9 Crores will be spent for Rajahmundry Airport, Rs. 50 Crores for extending the runway at Hyderabad Airport, Rs. 130 Crores for various development works at the Visakhapatnam Airport and Rs. 15 Crores for Tirupati Airport.
Toll Tax inevitable
Toll Taxes will become inevitable since the Government has been expanding and taking the development and maintenance of Highways. Union Minister Sri BC Kandori said in a press conference in Vijayawada.
PCC Spokesman Sri Rosayya said that PCC has not officially discussed on the separate Telangana programme as said by various MLA's and that a final decision on this will be taken soon.
BJP President Sri Jana Krishna Murthy's decision will be final in regard to the state BJP on Telangana state formation issue. This was stated by Mr. Parakala Prabhakar in Hyderabad.
TRS President Sri Chandra Sekhar Rao said that the actual idea on BJP has come out and that Congress will also be coming out with their version on Telangana and that the formation of a separate Telangana state is only possible by TRS.
Film Actress and Member of Legislature Mrs. Jaya Pradha took part in various Janmabhoomi Programme in Prakasam district.
Senior Congress Member Sri Draonam Raju Satyanarayana said that the Telugu Desam Party Led Government has to concentrate the Polvaram project instead of saying that all the projects in the state are with the Center's decision. He spoke at a press conference in Visakhapatnam today.
Minister for Social Welfare Mrs. K Pushpaleela said that about 65% of the students in various Gurukula Schools in the state have passed the Intermediate examinations. She expressed satisfaction at the performance of the schools.
Veteran Film Actor and Director Sri K Pretyegatma died today.
Various Student Associations including the AIDSO and SFI staged a Dharna opposite the Board of Intermediate office in Hyderabad today. They demanded for reduction in the cost of Examination fee and to hold an enquiry into Valuation of recent exams.
CLP Leader Sri Rajasekhar Reddy said that the state Government is not concentrating on the development of various irrigation projects in the state. He said that while the neighboring state Karnataka has spent R. 13000 Crores towards irrigation works, Andhra Pradesh has allocated just Rs 6000 Crores.
The talks between Management and Unions have failed in regard to the Singareni Collaries issue. Employee Unions will go on strike from tomorrow.
