Golden Continental inaugurated at Guntur

Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Golden Continental in Guntur district. He said that all the Roads in the state will be upgraded and broadened. Malaysia promised to support in terms of technology. Union Ministers Sri Venkiah Naidu and Major Gen. Kanduri were present at the meet.

Intermediate IInd Year Results announced

Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Studies released the 2nd Year Intermediate Exam results. The results ware made available over the Internet and through SMS Cellular Phones. Though the results were made available to over a dozen websites, many of the sites could not be opened as there was technical problems related with them. Links to the website are available at IndiaStudyCenter.com. Sri G Sudheer released the Examination results. The total pass percentage was at 40.3 %. Of the Regular students, the pass percentage is at 48.8 % while only 17.5 % of private students were able to pass. As ever, Girls took the lead in the pass percentages. Krishna district topped the pass percentage while Mahaboobnagar registered the least. The Supplementary examinations for those who have failed in less than 4 subjects would be held on 2nd of next month.

AUCET 2001 Exam held

Andhra University Common Entance Test 2001 Examination for Entrance into PG Courses began at various centers in the Visakhapatnam.

Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu inaugurates a workshop on Water Management in Hyderabad. The Workshop was organised by the Indo-Australian Committee. Members of the World Bank were also present at the workshop and they expressed satisfaction at the steps taken for effective management of water by the Water Management Committees set up in various districts. They said that these reforms will be used in countries like Mexico.
A group of decoits tried to rob Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadagirigutta. The decoits who tried to open the doors of the temple were prevented by the Watchman Mr. Bahadur who was killed. They later escaped. The Temple of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple was one of the few temples of Lord Narasihamaswamy - the avater of Lord Vishnu.
Mr. N Vittal, Central Vigilance Commissioner inaugurated a 3-day Conference on Vigilance heads from difference units of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. (BHEL).
A Gang involved in printing and distribution of fake 100-Rupee Indian currency notes was arrested by the police in Sangareddy.
