Inter Advanced Supplementary Exams from July 2
The Andhra Pradesh Intermediate Advanced Supplementary examinations will be held July 2 - 9th 2001. 1.3 Lakh students are appearing for these examinations. Speaking to the press, Board of Intermediate Studies Secretary, Mr. M Srinuvasa Rao said that student who have failed 4 or less exams in their final exams are eligible to appear for the examination. He said that this decission has been introduced inorder to enable the students to take part in Competative exams.
Conference of Self Working Groups begins in Hyderabad
Union Minister Sri M Venkiah Naidu inaugurated a 2 day Cheif Ministers Conference on Self Development Groups in Hyderabad today. Speaking at the meet, he said that 26% of the Indian population is still under the poverty line and that 1/4th of the World poor are in India. He said that this situation has come due to the inefficient functionality of the various schemes in the past. He asked the Governments and the Banks to effectively utilise the funds being granted by the center in an effective manner. He said that the Center has allocated Rs.13,325 Crores towards the Swarnajayanthi programme. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri Chandrababu Naidu, CM of Madhya Pradesh Sri Digvijay Singh, Lt. Governors of Pondicherry & Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Officials from various Government Departments and private establishments took part in the meet.
Senior Congress Leader Mr. Pranab Mukarjee said that Panchayat Elections and Telangana not to be linked. He said that the Congress will come out of the decision after through discussions with the members.
TDP Party President Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that he is confident of TDP winning in the upcoming Local and Panchayat Elections. He said that TDP will be discussing with BJP on a possible figure in seat allocations in various constituencies.
The Telangana Rastra Samithi said it will be coming out with the list of its candidates only after all the parities have come out with their candidate List.
State AIDS Prevention Forum said that it will be holding a free Family Health Counseling sessions between July 16 and 30. It said that there are over 4 Lakh AIDS patients in state and Guntur and Hyderabad were active areas in the state. Incidentally Andhra Pradesh stands 2nd in the country.
State APPB SP Mr J V Ramudu inaugurated staff Andhra Pradesh Police Battalion Police Quarters in Mahaboobnagar. He said that 4 Special training centers will be set in the state to counter attack Cyber and Hitech crimes.
