All-Party meet on 610 GO Implementation
An All party meeting is going on in Hyderabad. The meeting headed by Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu is discussing on the possibilities of implementation of 610 GO. CPI(M) Leader Sri. B V Raghavulu commented that the Government is not dedicated in implementation of the GO and that no step was taken by the Government towards this.
A Ministerial meeting will be held this evening. The meeting is expected to be headed by Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu. The meeting will be discussing on Implementation of more new programmes for Women, Proposal of 15 Lakh Gas connections for the women to be sent to the Center, stike by employees at Singereni Colleries and the Statehood for Telangana.
The BJP State Level meet began in Vizag today at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Senior BJP Leaders Sri Venkiah Naidu, Sri Vidyasagar and others took part in the meet. The meeting decided to stay away from the issue. They felt that there is no special need to discuss on the issue since the Union Government has already given its stand on the issue.
An MLA and 50 other activists of CPI, CPM parities were arrested when they tried to remove locks of a Ground Nut depot and distribute the seeds to farmers in Anantapur district.
Naxals of the peoples war group took into their control 12 persons. Many of these people were militants while others are believed to be Police Informers. According to sources, it is believed that 6 of these 12 persons were shot dead after being harassed by the Naxals.
Information and Public Relations Sri N.Sivaprasad said that the State Government is considering giving permission for 6 more new Medical Colleges and 8 Dental Colleges. He said that the State Cabinet has approved the offer. He also said that Andhra Pradesh Housing Corporation, Life Insurance Corporation will be giving Rs. 98.32 Crores for construction of houses for Backward class people in the state.
The Water Level of River Godavari at Badrachalam started to gain heights. The level on Friday night was at 13 feet while on Saturday night it rose to 44.3 feet. The first warning of floods was raised at about 4 PM. The second warning will be raised when the levels increases to 48 ft while the danger level is 52 feet.
A Earthquake of minor intensity shook parts of Karimnagar and Cuddapah. The intensity was recorded at 4.0 on Richer scale.
A Police Party narrowly escaped from a Landmine blast being set by the Peoples War Group naxals near Badrachalam.
