NSUI to go to high court to stop admissions to new Engineering colleges

Members of the NSUI met the Governor Sri Ranga Rajan and submitted a requisition. NSUI said it will go to High Court to stop new colleges which do not have any basic infrastructure to conduct admissions.

Chilakam Ramachandra Reddy wrote a letter to the Center asking to relieve him from the post of Presidentship for the Andhra Pradesh Bharateeya Janatha Party. He confirmed to a private Television that he is wishing to resign to the post on health grounds.

CLP President Sri M Satyanarayana said that TRS should not have participated in the recent local elections and that participating in elections is not the right way when TRS is fighting for separate Telangana statehood. He spoke to the press today at the Gandhi Bhavan.

Government of Andhra Pradesh decided to provide rice to people below the poverty line at Rs. 9:00 instead of the last years Rs. 11.50 through fair price shops. Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu has held a meeting with Ministers and officials to decide on the minimum prices for the farmers.

Dr. Jullu K Kotappa said that technology should only used on animals and that producing men should be exempted from this. He spoke at an Indo-American meet in Hyderabad.

One Head Constable died when a granade exploded all of a sudden in Jammigunta - Microwave station in Karimnagar district. 3 more police personnel were injured.

Prof. Y R Harigopal, Convenor of LAWCET 2001 being conducted by Nagarjuna University announced that the the counselling sessions for the same will be held from 6th of August. Notification in this regard will be released shortly.
