APHB joins hands with CESMA of Singapore

The Andhra Pradesh Housing Board is developing a joint venture project in collaboration with Singapore-based CESMA International to set up a satellite township at Pocharam. The State Government has already given permission to the Housing Board to get technical consultancy from CESMA for the development of 50 acres and to take up construction of flats. About a thousand flats are proposed to be constructed in the first phase. A team of CESMA officials visited the site and held discussions with APHB officials.

The National Savings Organizations and Employees State Insurance Corporation today jointly organized "Pay Roll Savings Day Celebrations" at ESIC Auditorium at Hyderabad. The Minister for Labour and Employment Mr. C. Krishna Yadav participated as Chief Guest. He said that habit of savings should be inculcated right from childhood. He suggested that "Government savings schemes such as small savings would be safe and secure for investment". Regional director of ESIC Mr BK Sahu, Bhushanam and Chief Post Master General Mr. Dayal etc. participated in the meet.

The IDPL Joint Action Committee, comprising of the all trade unions of AITUC, CITU,HMS, INTUC, will organize a dharna on July 19,in front of IDPL unit, Balanagar demanding the Central Government to allocate Rs.547 crores for the revival package of IDPL.

The State General Secretary Mr. P.Nageshwar Rao today condemned that the Central Government for its indifferent attitude towards IDPL in not preparing a revival package despite several representations to the Minister for chemicals and other Central Ministers.

The Pradesh Congress Committee(PCC) today disputed the Chief Minister Mr.N. Chandrababu Naidu's claim that power position in the state was improving and adequate power would be made available from June 1. PCC spokesperson Mr. K.Rosaiah said even the latest report of the planning commission confirmed the "poor" situation on the power front. Quoting the planning commission's report on the "State electricity board and performance of its wings", Mr. Rosaiah said Andhra Pradesh was number one in spending more on power generation when compared to other states.

Hyderabad-based Khundmiri Hitech Technology has designed and manufactured an innovative plastic flagstick for the use of common man, political parties and leaders. The modern flagstick, which can be used by four-wheelers and two-wheelers, can be easily tied to the side-door glass of a car or to the number plates of the two-wheelers. The flagstick was launched by Mrs. Sultan Jehan Baqri, Chairperson of Mahila Welfare Association and Champion of the Cause of women's rights, at a media meet here today.
