60 Police men were injured as Police patrol bus overturns

The Second Phase Elections of ZPTC and MPTC will be held on 15th July 2001. The State Election Commissioner said that all arrangements have been made in the 11 places where elections are to be conducted. Majority of the polling is in Rayalaseema and Telangana regions. Re-polling will be held in 60 centers on the same day. High security arrangements have been made.

A rally was held in Hyderabad asking Pakistan to "Free Indian War Prisoners" who are held by Pakistan during Indo-Pak War.

TDP President Sri Chandrababu Naidu expressed his confidence in TDP's win in local party elections. He spoke with the press today. He said that Naxalites shoud come into public and express their wishes in a peaceful manner. He critised that TRS President Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao is trying to make profits from Naxalites.

The Repolling is made necessary in some parts where Naxalites attacked Polling Stations and took away ballet boxes, poured water in them etc. Many of the centers are in Mahaboobnagar Rachur, Timmapalli, Narayanavaram constituencies besides others.

Congress critised that the Telugu Desam Party is using their power illegally to gain in the local elections. Mr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said that Mr. Chandra babu Naidu is trying to make false impression of Congress in the people. He also said that publishing of free gas connections in the campaign violates election code.

60 Police men were injured while a head-contestable died when a police patrol bus lost control and overturned in Suryapeta in Nalgonda district. 10 police men were badly injured and were rushed to the nearest hospital. The two police vans are on their way from Rangareddy district to check security arrangements in the area.

10 persons were injured with knife-cuts in clashes between the TDP and Congress activists in Narsapuram area of West Godavari.

CPI requested the State Election Commission to check into the unanimous elections in many Panachayat's in the state. CPI State Secretary Mr Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy wrote a letter to this effect to the State Election Commissioner Sri Madhava Rao.

About 22 houses were guttered in a fire accident in Gudivada of Krishna District. Lost of property was put at Rs. 10 Lakhs and none were injured in the incident.

A Girijan person was killed by the Peoples War Group Naxals who believed him to be a police informer. The incident occurerd in Kotthagudem area of Adilabad district.

Indian History Commission staged a meeting and opposed the decision and demanded the withdrawal of the GO 36 code. They opposed the Government's GO 36 code which allows removing of history from syllabus, removal of professors etc.

A Hyderabadi filed a case against Poetry.com - a website which is believed to have cheated people. About 15 Hyderabadies including Director General of Police, Hyderabad received mail saying they have won and asked to send 100$ from each member to claim their gift.

Senior Congress Leader Sri Dronam Raju Satyanarayana said that TDP went on many illegal means in various constituencies in local elections. He said that no one reported to the police on the incident of gifting of sarees to women during elections. Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 were given to ladies and men respectively and that Liquor was served.

A big rally was conducted by TDP Member Sri Yerram Naidu of TDP in Vizianagaram today. He said that TDP stood by its words and brought about programmes which were not even being done during the Indira Gandhi's tenure. Meanwhile, SP of Vizianagaram District said that they ware making arrangements to make the elections peaceful.

ABM Amro Bank launched an exhibition drive to attract more customers to the Bank and take the Bank's policies to the people.

One women died and about 200 huts were guttered in a major fire accident held yesterday in Cuddapah. The accident was believed to have occurred due to an electric short circuit.
