Andhra Pradesh observed today as Jayanthi of Mahatma Gandhi. Governor Sri. Rangarajan , Speaker Mr. Balayogi, Minister Mr. K Vijaya Rama Rao, PCC President Mr. Satyanarayana Rao and others paid homage to the Mahatma at Bapu Ghat.

Union Minister Mr. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated a Low Power Transmitter Center ( LPT ) TV Transmitter of Doordarshan at Madanapally in Chitoor. Kisan Cards were distributed to the farmers at a seperate meeting.

Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that the BJP & TDP has to work united and sort out by discussions if any clashes in ideas arrise.

Minister Mr. Vijaya Rama Rao released a strategy paper today. He said that the Government is coming up with a Infrastucture Enabling Act to make all the activities done in a clear way. He said that the Government has already taken up the task of development of IT and is currently considering towards Infrastucture Development. He said that this project will cost Rs. 5 Lakh and will be a part of Vision 2020 Document.

DGP Sri H K Dora said that the Communication equipment sent by the Andhra Pradesh team started to be fully functional in almost all areas in Gujarat.

Special Train left Secunderabad filled with Relief Materials and familes living in Gujarat. The Railways is running this train free of cost for the passengers.

PCC M Satyanarayana Rao & Mr. P Sudhakar Reddy inaugurated a relief material mobilisation camp. The camp began at Charminar by the Youth Congress. APPC has sent up a relief committee to procue essentrial items from all districts in the state.

Mr. Kadiyam Srihari said that all efforts are beginning for the Second Phase of "Akshara Sankranthi" project and welcomed all political parties to join hands to make the program a success. He spoke to the press at Visakhapatnam.
