The State Assembly sessions started today at 9:30 in the morning. Governor Mr. Rangarajan delivered his speech in the Assembly which lasted for 30 minutes. He offered deep condolences to the quake hit people of Gujarat.

The highlights of his speech are :

The Congress tried to bring the difficulties faced by the farmers to the Governor's notice by holding banners while the Governor is delivering his speech.

Speaker Ms. Prathiba Bharati gave a small treat to some of the MLA's today. Chief Minister Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, Home minister Devendar Goud, leader of the opposition party Mr. Rajashekar Reddy were in the party.

Governor said that the people may have to face more charges in the future in his speech at the Assembly. He also said that Short-term sacrifices have to made for long term goals. The Opposition were disappointed on Governors speech about short-term goals.

Ms. Prathiba Bharati discussed with the Parliament Affairs committee. She said that the State Assembly Budget disucssions to close by March 20th.

CLP Leader Mr. Rajesekhar Reddy commented that the state Finance has gone bankrupt. The Congress released a Black Paper today on the state Finance. He said that people welfare programs are not taken into account by the Government.

Cine Star Ms. Roja campained for the TDP led candidate at Kommaluru today.

Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu waved the green flag for the bus carrying 300 members traveling to the Holy pilgrimage of Hajj ( Hajj Yatra ).

MLA Ms. Suguna Kumari inaugurated the new railway line at Karimnagar. Minister Mr. Vidyasagara Rao is also present.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ordered a judgement to consider daily Mega serials for presenting Nandi awards.

The EME Military officers meeting was conducted today at Secunderabad. Gen. Dhillan participated in the meeting.
