Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu returns back to Hyderabad after participating at the 5 day World Economic Meet at Dalllas, USA. He was received by the Ministers of the state at the Hyderabad Airport. Chief Minister expressed hapiness and said that Andhra Pradesh will be drawing more investments in the near future and that his visit to Dallas is a great sucess.

TDP Leader Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP Party elections in Warangal and Cuddapah district will be postponed in view of the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking at the Party Polit Bureau at the NTR Trust Bhavan, he said that the Madal & Divisional elections of the party would be likely be held between Feb 8 & 10.

Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu released a strategy paper for poverty irradication in the state. The action plan which is mentioned in the strategy paper will come into force from Apr 1, 2001. However, the first phase will be identification of the poor based on their income levels.

State Congress said that it is gaining upper hand over TDP in the state and the people's verdict will be towards them. Mr. P. Ram Gopal Reddy who has been with the TDP has joined the Congress today.

Union Minister Mr. Dattatreya said that the Central Government will be making the constuction of Buildings that are resistant to Natural calamities such as Earthquakes and Floods. He said that all State Governments will be informed about this soon.

Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Mr. Ramulu said that strict action willl be taken on any one who indulge in collection of funds and relief material by unauthorised people. He also said that action will be taken school authorities who send their students to roads to collect funds.

Official sources say that the second phase of Hitech City, Madhapur's first floor has been completely filled. As expected, the floor is completly occupied by various IT Companies.

Swadeshi Mela - a congregation of goods and items of Handicrafts & Arts was inaugurated by Minister for Science & Technology Mr. Bachising Rawar in Visakhapatnam.

VSNL Employees stages dharna at Hyderabad demanding for equal payscales for both VSNL and BSNL Employess.
