5 school students found missing in Godavari river waters
Five School going students drowned in the River Godavari as the river water took away then when they were taking bath. A group of 67 student of the Layola Model School of Rangareddy visited Bhadrachalm to take visit the temple and before doing so, they took bath in the river aside. The Police-engaged divers and the local washermen tried to search and rescue the students but failed. It is believed that the missing student must have got struck in river grass or near the rock deep in.
12 students were held in a ragging case in the Agricultural College in Mahandi in Kurnool District and were remanded to custody.
The NABARD sanctioned Rs. 89.66 Crores for various rural development projects in the state as per the 51st Project Sanctioning Committee report.
2 Naxals were killed in an encounter in Anantapur. The Naxals belong to the CPI(ML) ROC.
