Senior Congress MLA Mr. Maisoora Reddy asked why the Government has given discount on Sales Tax for Indian Cements located at Yerraguntla in Cuddapah district even tough it does not come under the preview of Target 2000. Replying to this, Minister Mr. Vidhyadhara Rao said that this was done to promote industries in the backward areas and especially in Cuddapah. Mr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy said that this was a Rs. 200 Crores scandal. Replying this, Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu said that his government is standing on truth and that no place was given for any scandals. Dissatisfied with this reply, the Congress Part made a walk-out from the assembly.
New Dy. Speaker for assembly
Rangareddy MLA Mr. Hariswara Reddy took over as the new Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. He was the only person to file nomination for the post. Chief Minister Mr. Chandrababu Naidu hoped that he stands on his job in fair means. CLP Leader Mr. Rajasekhar Reddy questioned on why they made hurry for the selection of Deputy Speaker post.
Dicussions on Kakinada Port comes to assembly
Senior Congress leader Mr. Maisoora Reddy asked the Government for a house committee on the dealings in regard to Kakinada Port. He presented reports and agreement copies at the Speaker. Replying to this the concerned Minister said that the Government has not completely approved and agreed to the demands as per the agreement and that the considerations were still with the sub-committee. CLP Leader stressed on the need for the appointment of a house committee into the issue as this was a major asset for the Government. However, CM rejected on this fairly.
Winter sessions of Assembly comes to an end
The Winter sessions of the Assembly came to an end today. CLP and Left parties said that they were successful in brining many issues for the discussions in the assembly.
