CLP Leader Mr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy said he along with his family members are ready for any enquiry with even a Supreme Court judge and take action on any one who is involved into this. He said this when some members said that relatives of Mr. YSR were involved into ISD calls racket.

Discussion on sale of Infant babies
Discussion on sale of infant babies came to the assembly today. MLA and Senior Congress member Mr. Maysoora Reddy asked the Government on what steps it has taken to see that sale of infant be eradicated. Reply to this, Minister Mrs. S Saraswathi said that she will look into the matter and take necessary action. Mr. Rajesekhar Reddy asked for a deeper insight into the happenings. Opposition parties also asked on what amendments were made to the acts on running of Orphanage homes. Congress, BJP, MIM and TRS Members asked the Government why it has not field a charge sheet and waited for the surrender of Mrs. Anita Sen who was primarily involved in the state. MIM Leader Mr. Asiruddin Owaisi said that Orphan homes have become a modern place for business where selling of infant children was taking place. BJP Indrasenareddy recommended for a House Committee on the steps to be taken for which Minister Mr. Yanamala left over the decision to the Speaker to decide only if the its report is submitted before the house in 1 month. The Speaker Mrs. Prathiba Barathi agreed to setup a house committee in this regard.

Oppositions asks Government to come to resucue of Rayalaseema farmers
MLA Mr. Diwakara Reddy questioned the Government in the Assembly on the improper prices presented before the Groundnut farmer in Anantapur, Kurnool and Mahaboodnagar districts. He said that at least Rs. 2500 be provided or necessary compensation be provided for the farmer directly without involving banks or insurance agencies. He also asked the Government to provide compulsory insurance for the farmers and suggested helping farmers by providing subsidy for farmers who work on horticulture.

Police began its investigating into a possible sale of an infant baby in Girijan areas of Amanagallu area of Mahabubnagar.

Congress Formation Day celebrated
APCC President hoisted the flag of the Congress Part at the Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad to mark the Formation Day of the Congress Party and the Congress Seva Dal. He said that many volunteers and supporters of the Telugu Desam Party were joining State Congress after getting vexed with the reforms of the Government.

117 Congress Formation Day Celebrations were held in Kurnool today. The District Congress party leaders garlanded the statue of Former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi.

Union Minister for Railways Mr. Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Gutty - Pendekal bypass Railway Line today in Anantapur. He said that more importance for Andhra Pradesh in the upcoming Railway Budget. This bypass Railway line spreads 29.27 Km and was built at a cost of Rs. 47.09 Crores.

Telangana Sadhana Samithi President Mr. A Narendra said that it will be taking part in all the constituencies in the upcoming Hyderabad Municipal Elections.

Vijayawada Police issued orders not to roam on the road after 12:30 PM on the 31st of December 2001. Surendarbabu, Commissioner of Police said that these restrictions were necessary for the people and that Hotels and Restaurants have to take prior permission for New Year Eve programs.
