Commission to probe on J K Trust allegations

Chief Minister has agreed for a probe into increasing expenditure of J K Trust program than the Gopala Mithra program after Leader of Opposition Mr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy by a Committee. Opposition parties blocked the proceedings for about 45 minutes in the assembly today.

Congress stopping Development programs in state - Naidu
Chief Minister and TDP Party President Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that the Congress has been stopping the implementation of the Food-For-Work programme and that they have been stopping the Government in providing food grains for the poor. He said that this has to be taken to the people. He spoke at the 8th Batch of the Assembly Constituencies Co-ordination Committee held at NTR Trust Bhawan today. He said that TDP Government will head the state as long as it works fair to the people.

Congress MLA's asked the Government to ask AP Transco to give some time to the farmers who have failed to pay the electricity bill in time so that the farmer community can sell their produce and pay the same. Congress Secretary Mr. Maisoora Reddy questioned why the Government has went ahead of providing remuneration for the farmers in the state whose crop failed after they planted fake seeds.

Congress and BJP Parties said that they were dissatisfied at the Government's hurry in instituting Rural Assemblies. CLP Secretary Mr. Maisoora Reddy said that thorough discussion should be done on this and if the Government is in a hurry, it has to implement it as a pilot project. However, the Government did not come out with any statement in this regard. Leader of BJP Party in Assembly Mr. N Indrasena Reddy said the Government's idea was not convincing. Telangana Rastra Samithi and gave some suggestions on its implementation.

The Government called on an all-party meeting on the interim report of the 610GO Recommendation Commission. Congress and TRS however did not take part in the meeting stating that the report did not carry all the required information. MIM and CPI(M) felt dissatisfied and said that not even 10% of the information was presented by the Commission. However, the Telugu Desam Party said that the act of TRS and Congress made it clear that the parties have no interest on the development of the Telangana region.

22 sites for tourism
Minister for Tourism, Mr. T Srinuvas Yadav said, in the Assembly, that the Government has identified 22 Buddhist sites in the state which can be set as Tourism spots. He said that these sites includes Magarjunakonda, Bhattiprolu, Amaravathi, Dantapuram, Ghantasala, Saligramam, Ramathirtha, Nelakondapalli, Chandavaram, Thotla Konda and Bhavi Konda.

SSC Exams from Mar 14, 2002
The Director of Government Examinations, Mr. D Ravindranadham said that the SSC/OSSC and Vocational Examinations for the year 2001-2002 will be held from March 14 - 30, 2002 between 11:30 AM to OM.

All set for Visakha Utsav
The Visakhapatnam District Collection Mr. Sunil Sharma said that all arrangements for the Visakha Utsav that will be beginning from tomorrow were completed. He said that this years Utsav was organised in a large scale and the main sponsors for the event were Pepsi and ITC. Commissioner of Police Mr. A K Khan said that all security arrangements were beefed up and that Traffic was diverted at the RK Beach Road. He said that Special Police teams besides the Beach Patrol were at the Beach.
