State Government thanks Center for releae of rice to the state

The Government passed a resolution in the Assembly thanking the Central Government for release of 8.5 tonnes of rice under the food-for-work programme. The Congress however protested against this.

The Assembly paid homage and observed 2 minute silence at the recent death of 7 former members and 3 ministers.

Ms. Justice T Meenakumari of the Andhra Pradesh High Court suspended the notification issued by the Board of Intermediate studies for appointment of new junior colleges in the state.

The AP Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Trade opposed the Government' decision to take a 2% turnover tax on petrol and petroleum based products.
