The Guards guarding the Vaikuntam Queue Complex at Tirupati tried to avert a suicide attempt by a 21-year old man who tried to die for failing his graduate examination.
The CPI(M) demanded the Government to buy black jaggery from the farmers in the state. Speaking at a press conference, the secretary of the party, Mr. B V Raghavulu said that the jaggery farmers were hardly hit by a high court judgement.

Minister for Major and Medium Irrigation, Mr. Kadiyam Srihari said that 230 TMCFT of water is available for irrigation in the Srisailam and Nagarjuna sagar reservoir. He inspected the Prakasam barrage and said that the Government will act on the reports from the experts.
