CM begins his 2 day Delhi visit

Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu's 2-day visit to New Delhi began today with his meeting with the Prime Minister Sri A B Vajpey Along with the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana. They requested the hike in price of paddy per quintal by Rs. 50 due to the increase of Labour, Farmers and Fertilizers. He said that the Prime Minister has agreed to consider this.

CLP Leader writes to Prime Minister
CLP Leader Sri Rajasekhar Reddy announced that he has written a letter to the Prime Minister. Sri Rajasekhar Reddy said that his letter includes the following points

• Rs. 1 Crore per mandal

• Provide Fodder to animals & Quality Seeds

• Waiving of Fee to the Rural Students

He said there was no moment from the Government at the State level in regard to the serious drought situation

Left Parties meets Governor
Representatives of the CPI, CPIM and other left parties met the Governor Sri Ranga Rajan and brought to his notice about the various crimes made against women belonging to lower castes including the SC & ST's. Sri Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy and Sri B V Raghavulu and others were among those who met the Governor.

Quit India freedom fighters felicitated
Quit India Kranthi Divas was observed today by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Party. APCC President Sri M Satyanarayana Reddy garlanded eminent personalities who took part in the Quit India Movement.

9 Roman Coins excavated
A Farmer in Ramachandrapuram, Guntur found out about 9 coins dating back to the Roman Ages of 1-2 Centuries BC. The coins had symbols of Roman Kings including Augusts and Caesar and Roman Gods on the other side. Archeology Department began to find a possible link between Andhra Region and the Roman Regions.

Green Centers Meet at Hyderabad
The First Green Business Center to be setup at Hyderabad. This was announced by Minister Sri Vidhayadhara Rao. He said that the discussions about the concept will be taken at the upcoming CII Meet to be held between August 30 to September 3. The meet was entitled Green Building Congress and looks into Environmental friendly industries and technologies available. Experts from America, Britain, Japan are expected to take part in this meet.

Power was cut in areas of Vijayawada and Hyderabad for about 12 hrs when the Power Production was stopped due to a technical snag at the Vijayawada Thermal Power Station.

Ganja plantations worth Rs. 5 Crores were seized by Excise authorities in Narayankhed of Medak District.
