EAMCET 2001 first phase counselling begins

Counseling for seats in various Engineering and Medical Colleges in the state began this morning at the five EAMCET 2001 Counseling Centers. The Centers Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Tirupati and Guntur were connected with Video-conferencing facilities. Minister for Technical Education, Sir Alapathi Rajendra Prasad launched the new system which was for the first time used in the state to conduct counseling sessions for admissions to various colleges in the state.

Tourism Department to develop Acquasports
The Tourism Department of the Government of India organised a meet at Hyderabad targeted at Acqua-Sport Operators, Boat Operator and Acqua-tourism consultants. The emphasis of the tour was to develop acqua tourism in Southern India.

Dr. Y Rajendra Prasad asks for CBI enquiry into death of NT Rama Rao
Dr. Yarlagadda Rajendra Prasad said that the State Government has to order into a CBI enquiry into the death of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao. He said that he has all the information necessary to support Dr. Kakarla Subba Rao's statements. He said that Ms. Lakshmi Parvathi has called up Smt. Mahalakshmi who is a Gynacologist at the late hours of Sri N T Rama Rao. He wondered what would be the need of a Gynacologist at that point of time. He spoke to the press in Tirupathi yesterday.

CLP's comments not right - says Janardhan Redddy
Minister Sri Nagan Janardhan Reddy said that the Center has reacted positively to allocate funds for the state in regard to the drought situation in the state. He said that CLP Leader Sri Rajasekhar Reddy has been making unwanted comments against the Government which has been working seriously for the poor.

BJP State Level Members meet took place today at Hyderabad. They discussed on the reasons behind the loss of BJP in recent elections and felt that lack of proper campaign by TDP has led to this. CLP Leader Sri Rajasekhar Reddy said that the Congress is still committed for free power distribution and that the situations in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were different than that of our state. He spoke with the press after returning from surveying farmer lands in Guntur today.
