Krushi Bank Chairman arrested

Krushi Bank Chairman Penugonda Ramamurthy was arrested at Rajahmundry by the CID today. A team of CID officials who went to Rajahmundry and took Ramamurthy into custody. Ramamurthy was at his relatives house in Rajahmundry.

ISA Agents arrested in Hyderabad
Two ISA Agents were arrested in Hyderabad today. The two arrested ISA Agents were Mr. Abdul Ajiz and Mr. Mohammad Nissar. About Rs. 1 Lakh in Cash, Belgium made pistols and heavy ammunition were recovered from them.

Paviraj shifted to Foreigners Jail
Recently arrested Australia-based Social Worker Mr. Parviraj who was arrested in the sex scandal in Visakhapatnam was sent to the Special Foreigners Jail in Hyderabad. A Report with complete information on his activities in the country was sent to the Australian High Commissioner's Office.

Ms. Roda Mistry surrenders
Former Minister and ICWS President, Ms. Roda Mistry - the prime accused in the orphanage child selling scam surrendered before the 9th Metropolitan Magistrate with the help of her lawyer. She was sent to Judicial Custody till 5th September. She was brought to the court on a wheel chair as she was ill.

Guntur based Narayana Dental College was given permission to conduct first year Medical Courses for 2001-2002.

Mr. Skheera Sagar, an Employee of Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard was awarded for Prime Minister Srama Shakthi Award.

Naxals surrenders
Mr. Dayanand and his wife - Senior Naxals of the Peoples War Group surrendered before the police today. These two naxals were actively involved in many cases under the police records. Mr. Dayanand was the Deputy Commander of the Peoples War Group and is involved in Medak Police station blast and murder of P Sudhakar, M Narayana. They surrendered before the DIG Sri H K Dora. Sri Dora said that a record 431 naxals surrendered till now during this year and that 14 of these were Dy. Central Organisers while others were members of the naxal group. DGP felt that more naxals will join the society and are thinking of surrendering soon.
