The NDA Rally was held at the Nizam College Grounds in Hyderabad. Home Minister Sri. L K Advani and Former Defence Minister Sri George Fernandez and others spoke at the rally and said that Opposition parties were making this issue too big in the public to come to power. Earlier thet arrived at the Hyderabad Airport this morning. BJP Leader Sri B.Dattatreya, State Finance Minister Sri T Devendar Goud and others welcomed them. Congress Members raised slogans against the NDA at the Airport.
Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu said that IT Companies have to show more intrest in development of software that were used by India's own IT Community. He said that companies have to focus more on taking patents as and when they developed something new in the IT Sector before some one else does that. He inaugurated Development Centre of Arsin Technologies - a Californian based company. He also spoke at the Technology Open House. He said that the Andhra Pradesh Government has taken all steps to launch complete e-Governance facility in the state and that the Governments own portal will be in the future putting all services on the website.
CPI critised that the Government is responsible for the problems being faced by Weaver community in the state. They said that the failure of APCO and Govt's inability to show an alternative to them were the main reasons for the downfall of the Weaver community.
The Kalyanotsavam of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimhaswami was held at Simhachalam in Visakhapatnam.
4 people died while 22 were injured in seperate road accidents in Visakhapatnam. In a major accident in while a lorry tumbled at Pendurthy area, the driver and the cleaner of the lorry died on the spot while 3 more sustained with major injuries.
