Home Minister Sri Devendar Goud said that strict action will be taken against any one who shows discrimination against anyone in regard to caste. He said that an all-party meet will be organised shortly to make sure that the laid down laws on untouchability aspects are strictly observed.
Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated State Level Bankers Committee Conference in Hyderabad. He also released the Andhra Pradesh State Credit Plan. He request the Bankers Conference to provide loans to the Farmers timely and as when required. The Committee said that it will be focusing on
- Proposed financing of Cold Storage Units
- He asked collectors and bankers to concentrate on individual districts.

- Cattle Development : Rs. 344 Crores
- Fisheries Development : Rs. 158 Crores
- Weavers Community : Rs. 55 Crores
- Kisan Credit Cards : Rs. 40 Lakhs
The Committee also felt that Corporate Farming will be becoming necessary to counter attack competition
The Investigation team of CARA raided St. Theresa Tender Care Home in Sanathnagar of Hyderabad today. They also visited the Sisuvihar and monitored the health condition of the babies.

The TDP Convener of Adilabad District Mr. A Nageswara Rao was shot by suspected People War Group Naxals. The bullet instead hit a 60 year man old man who died. Mr. Nageswara Rao escaped with injuries.
The Chagallu Distillery of Nizam Sugar Factory was acquired by Jeypore Sugar Factory of Hyderabad at a cost of Rs. 9 Crores. Minister for Major Industries Mr. K Vidhya Sagar Rao was handed over the agreement signed for the sale of the distillery.
The 'Clean and Green City' award for the year 2000-01 was awarded to Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) for its efforts of greening the city and surrounding areas of Hyderabad.
The Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association has opposed the Governments Decision for the reservation of 15 percent seats to NRI's in Government Medical Colleges.
